Detached Buildings
Plan the electrical supply for garages, workshops and other separate spaces.
Power planned beyond the house
Serving Metairie & New Orleans
Bring power to a detached building, outdoor kitchen, gate or property improvement. We assess the route, electrical demand and site access, then explain the underground work your project requires.

Plan the electrical supply for garages, workshops and other separate spaces.
Assess wiring for gates, landscape lighting, outdoor kitchens and equipment.
Review an existing route or plan new conduit and feeders with the site's conditions in mind.
We discuss the proposed route, utility locating, access, surfaces and restoration responsibilities before work starts. Private underground lines may require separate locating. Electrical requirements and site conditions determine the installation approach; we explain the plan for your property.
Review electrical demand, access and the proposed destination.
Arrange the required locating and site coordination before completing the agreed work.
Complete the connections and verify the new electrical supply.
Start with what you want the new space to do. A garage used for storage has different electrical needs from a workshop with tools, lighting and other equipment. Share the equipment specifications and any future plans so we can assess the proposed demand alongside the existing electrical supply.
We review the source of power, the destination and the route between them before recommending the installation scope. If the project calls for electrical panel upgrades or repairs, we explain the reason and how that work fits into the overall plan. A new underground circuit does not automatically mean the main panel needs replacing.
For gates, outdoor kitchens and other improvements, coordinate equipment locations before installation. Knowing where the final connections belong helps define the route and avoid changes after surface work is complete.
The shortest route is not the only consideration. We review access, existing paving, planting, other buried infrastructure and the destination of the electrical supply. Tell us about irrigation, drainage work, previous additions and any available drawings showing underground installations.
Before work begins, we discuss the proposed excavation area and responsibility for restoring lawn, planting, concrete or other surfaces. If landscaping or paving work is already planned, bring that schedule into the conversation early. The agreed scope should make clear which electrical and site-work tasks are included.
If an outdoor building or equipment has lost power, tell us which areas are affected and when the problem started. Mention recent digging or property work and share any records of the existing route. We assess the electrical installation before explaining whether repair, replacement or further investigation is appropriate.
Buried conditions can limit what is known at the first visit. We explain those limits and the next step rather than assuming the full route or condition can be established from a photograph.
Utility locating is part of planning excavation, but privately owned lines may need separate attention. Louisiana 811 explains that buried lines are usually marked only to the meter or beginning of the service line. Its private utility locating guidance describes the additional locating that may be needed for customer-owned installations.
Let us know about power to outbuildings, irrigation, lighting and other underground systems on the property. We discuss the required locating and coordination before the agreed excavation work begins.
For underground electrical work in Metairie or Greater New Orleans, share the property location, the intended use of the new supply and photographs of the proposed route. Include an approximate distance, equipment details and any access restrictions. These details help prepare for the on-site assessment.
We explain the electrical scope, site coordination and any planned power interruption before starting. Once the agreed installation is complete, we finish the connections and verify the electrical supply.
